An Open Mentoring Session for Photographers
We’re halfway through the year, and for many photographers, this is a natural time to pause and ask:
How’s it going?
Am I making progress on the goals I set earlier this year?
Is there something I’ve been meaning to start but haven’t?
Am I spending my time on the things that matter most?
What do I want the second half of the year to look like?.
Maybe you’re making great progress or excited about what’s next.
Or maybe there’s something you’ve been wrestling with for a while and you’re ready for a fresh perspective.
This month, we’re doing something a little different inside the studio.
Instead of focusing on a specific photography topic, we’re opening up the conversation.

What is this "Creative Momentum" session about?
Creative Momentum is a live group mentoring session where you can bring whatever is most relevant to your photography right now.
• A question that keeps resurfacing.
•A goal you’ve been putting off getting started on.
• A project that has lost momentum.
• A decision you haven't made yet and keep circling back to.
• Something you’d like to explore but aren’t quite sure where to begin.
This is the kind of personal work I like to regularly challenge myself in my own photography.
This kind of reflection has helped me build a relationship with photography that feels more enjoyable, more intentional, and more rewarding than ever before. It’s also helped me make decisions more confidently, follow through on the things that matter most, and spend more time moving forward instead of spinning my wheels.
Bring your question—or something you’d like help with—and I’ll guide you through it.
My role is to offer perspective, ask questions, share ideas, and help you explore possibilities, solutions, and next steps.
Whether you’re looking for a solution, a new perspective, encouragement, accountability, or simply a place to think out loud, this session is designed to help you move forward.
Photographers at any stage of their journey are welcome.
Whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been making photographs for years, there’s a good chance you’ve wrestled with some of the same questions.

What can I bring to the session?
Anything related to the inner work of your photography.
For example:
A goal that’s lost momentum
“I said I was going to do this, but I still haven’t started.”
“I was excited about this project and now I’ve completely stalled out.”
“I keep putting this off and I’m not sure why.”
Looking ahead
“What should I focus on next?”
“I have several ideas and can’t decide where to put my energy.”
“What’s the best next step for me right now?”
An idea you’re excited about
“I’ve been thinking about this project and would love some feedback.”
“I think there’s something here, but I’m not sure where to take it.”
“How do I give this idea the best chance of succeeding?”
“What’s the next step?”
Confidence and self-doubt
“Why am I still second-guessing my work?”
“Why does everyone else seem further along than me?”
“Am I even getting better?”
Sharing your photography
“Why am I not sharing my work?”
“Why do I care so much what other people think?”
“I want to put myself out there, but something keeps stopping me.”
Finding your direction
“How do I find my style?”
“I know what I like, but my portfolio feels all over the place.”
“What kind of photographer do I want to be?”
Making photography fit your life
“How do I make more time for photography?”
“How do I stay motivated when life gets busy?”
“How do I keep photography fun instead of turning it into another obligation?”
Or something completely different.
If it’s on your mind, it’s welcome here.
What to expect:
We’ll gather on Zoom, I’ll kick things off with a few thoughts, and then open the floor for conversation.
Bring a question, a challenge, a goal, a decision, an idea, or something you’d like help with.
One at a time, I’ll invite people to share what’s on their mind. From there, I’ll help guide the conversation, offer perspective, ask questions, and explore possible solutions, ideas, and next steps.
Some conversations may be practical. Some may be creative. Some may help uncover what’s really getting in the way.
